Medusa is a chamber opera in one act composed by Paola Livorsi. The main themes of narcissism and power are visited through the ancient myths of Narcissus and Medusa. The life and paintings of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio are at the action’s background. The work unfolds as it does in painting, where windows open to many directions over time. In the role of Caravaggio’s young model and lover was played by the soprano and cellist Piia Komsi. Other roles are played by the dancers of the Finnish National Ballet.
Exit3-Company is a multidisciplinary art group with internationally acclaimed artists. The company was founded in 2019 in Helsinki.

This performance was a dialogue between lieds of Anton Webern and other composers of his time, Sara Orava’s paintings and Milla Eloranta´s dance. The paintings were made according to the colours that Piia Komsi experiences synesthetically in these lieds. The central part contains the songs composed by Anton Webern for the texts of the poet and visual artist Hildegard Jone.
